Each year the Global Studies Conference attracts participants from all over the world. Our Program Development team draws on this diversity to craft a rich and distinctive blended conference experience, with session types and programming explicitly designed to make the most of online and place-based social knowledge processes.

In addition to the annual focus, we invite proposals addressing one of the following themes.

Plenary Speaker

Dr. Eunice Goes

Professor of Politics, Richmond University, London, UK

At the same time, the model offers participants a legacy resource to which they can return in the CGScholar Event microsite, with access to a social space in our Community application where fellow participants can keep connected long after the conference ends.

With this step-by-step guide, you can get an insight into the new phases pre/during/post-conference of the blended conference experience.

Social Events

Dear Colleague,

We are pleased to share with you the Call for Papers for the Eighteenth International Conference on the Arts in Society, to be hosted by Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland, 5-7 July 2023.

The Arts in Society Research Network offers an interdisciplinary forum for discussion of the role of the arts in society. CFA: Univie: Winter School for Cultural Historical Studies – "The Discovery of Modernity - Vienna Around 1900"

Deadline: December 31, 2021

Due to the existing travel restrictions to prevent the COVID-19 virus from spreading, with a heavy heart, we decided to offer the upcoming univie: winter school as an online program.

We are writing you to introduce our new online course program:

univie: winter school for Cultural Historical Studies – "The Discovery of Modernity - Vienna Around 1900"

February 5 - 18, 2022

The winter school courses provide a well-structured introduction to one of the most fascinating periods of Austria's intellectual history in a short time. The culture of the fin-de-siècle is one of the highlights in the history of the Habsburg Monarchy.

The two-week program offers a variety of academic courses taught live online. The courses are held by distinguished scholars with international teaching experience. The interdisciplinary lectures will lead to a thorough understanding of the input of the fin-de-siècle on the modernization of Europe.

The live online courses encourage interactive participation. These courses with international participants offer the possibility to discuss the influence of developments in Vienna (e.g. the famous psychoanalyst Freud, painters like Klimt and Schiele, musicians like Mahler and Schönberg or philosophers like Wittgenstein) on different cultures in Europe and other continents.

A welcome session will introduce the participants to the winter school and give them the opportunity to informally meet with the staff and each other.

The winter program also includes an online tour of Vienna's Ringstraße and Art Nouveau in Vienna.

Social online gatherings as well as group work in breakout rooms will encourage intercultural and social exchange between the students. Participants thus broaden their horizons, meet colleagues from different fields of study, and make new friends.

Having seen the academic program of your department, we believe that the courses offered at the univie: winter school for Cultural Historical Studies would complement your university’s course offerings perfectly.

Given the interdisciplinary aspect of the program, our course offerings are, without question, of interest for students from all fields of study, but certainly of special interest for students who study one of the following fields: History, Cultural Studies, Art, Literature, Psychology, and Political Science.

More information about the univie: winter school for Cultural Historical Studies can be found on our homepage at: http://shs.univie.ac.at/winter-school

Attached you will also find the PDF version of the folder for 2022 as well as the application form. We would greatly appreciate it if you would forward the information to your students. (The application deadline for the winter school is December 31, 2021.)

For further information or special requests, please contact the program coordinators via email at: sommerhochschule@univie.ac.at. It would be our pleasure to be of assistance and to answer any questions you might have.

Deadline: December 14, 2021

We are pleased to share with you the Call for Papers for the Twenty-second International Conference on Knowledge, Culture, and Change in Organizations, 14–15 January 2022.

The Organization Studies Research Network comes together around a common concern for, and a shared interest to explore, new possibilities in knowledge, culture and change management, within the broader context of the nature and future of organizations and their impact on society. We seek to build an epistemic community where we can make linkages across disciplinary geographic and cultural boundaries.

Find more information and links to submit at https://organization-studies.com/2022-conference?utm_source=M22C_danUNV&utm_medium=M22C_danUNV&utm_campaign=M22C_danUNV

We invite proposals addressing one of the following themes.

Due to current travel restrictions—and uncertainty on the date these restrictions will end—we have decided to continue with only the online component of the 2022 conference. We are nonetheless excited to announce the online conference will be delivered on the CGScholar platform – developed by the Common Ground Media Lab, the research and technology arm of Common Ground Research Networks. We seek to build for our Research Network Members flexible, and at the same time resilient, spaces for communication, engagement, and participation.
