Conference News

Early-bird Conference Registration is Now Open

Until Friday, April 7, 2023

Be sure to renew your CES Individual Membership before you register to be eligible for Discounted Member Fees 

All participants must register for the conference via the Conference Portal. The final deadline to register is May 10, 2023.

Accommodation

A number of rooms in different categories have been pre-booked for our conference participants. To secure the accommodation of your choice, we recommend that you submit your hotel booking as early as possible. Reservations made after March 27th will be subject to availability. Information about hotels and booking form is available on our website.

Excursions

Our conference attendees and their travel companions are highly encouraged to explore beautiful Iceland. The list of excursions exclusively organized for the CES conference attendees is available hereBookings can be made via the booking form. Fellowships

SAE-CES Pre-Dissertation Research Fellowship

The Society for Anthropology of Europe (SAE) and the Council for European Studies (CES) invite eligible graduate students with a focus on European Anthropology to apply for the 2023 Anthropology of Europe Pre-Dissertation Fellowship. The SAE is the section of the American Anthropological Association that promotes the anthropological study of European societies and culture. Each fellowship includes a $5,000 stipend to fund two months' research in Europe, and travel support as well as a registration fee waiver for attending and presenting at the International Conference of Europeanists in 2024.
