The European Union Center of California at Scripps College is pleased to announce that we are now accepting online applications for the 16th Annual Claremont-UC Undergraduate Research Conference on the European Union, which will take place on on Scripps Campus in Claremont, CA.
Students may pursue a wide range of topics that reflect their interest, expertise, and past research. Topics may deal with any aspect of European integration or transatlantic relations. Papers can be about the EU, a particular country within the EU, or the EU’s relationship with outside countries.
Students will present and discuss their research in a panel format followed by questions and a discussion moderated by a faculty member. The conference will include a keynote address. At the conclusion of the conference, faculty participants will nominate and select the “best papers” of the conference. Selected papers will be published in a special volume of conference proceedings. Previous publications can be viewed via the digital version, http://scholarship.claremont.e
du/urceu/. In addition to publication in the Conference Journal, the EU Center of California and some of its partner institutions will be offering awards for the top two papers with summer study tours to Europe.
The Center will cover hotel room for 2 nights and conference meals for accepted participants. Participants are responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel.
